Aviation Generation, the not-for-profit movement educating the future for aviation, has announced the next stage in its national expansion — introducing Aviation Engineering and Aviation & Environmental Sustainability pathways to sit alongside its established Aviation Operations route from 2026.
Building on the success of its Aviation Operations programmes with Barnet & Southgate College and Stockton Sixth-Form College, Aviation Generation’s expanded model sets out a coherent, three-pathway structure joining up the operational, technical, and sustainability skills needed for the next generation of aviation professionals.
Aligned with Pearson’s qualification frameworks, the expansion is designed to give colleges and employers a clear, flexible route into the sector’s skills and net-zero priorities — including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), energy management, and sustainable transport.
“Our goal is to create a joined-up route for the next generation of aviation professionals — from airport operations to engineering and sustainability — all aligned with the UK’s skills and net-zero ambitions,” said Simon Witts, Founder & Origineer of Aviation Generation.
“This growth builds on the success of our lead colleges and deepens our collaboration with Pearson and industry partners nationwide.”
The new Aviation Engineering and Aviation & Environmental Sustainability pathways will introduce learners to the aviation engineering, environmental, scientific, and systems disciplines underpinning aviation’s transition to net zero — complementing the applied focus of Aviation Operations.
The Aviation Generation Advisory Board, which includes representatives from across airlines, airports, regulators, and education partners, continues to guide the development of the model as it scales for national delivery in 2026.
